FAKIN SINGLE VINEYARD
When a particular plot yields fruit worthy of standing on its own, it becomes a Single Vineyard wine. Each bottle is tied to a precise place, a distinct slope, a specific soil profile, and the character of one growing season. The result is something unmistakably Motovun: wines with clarity, identity, and a strong sense of origin. This is where Fakin pushes hardest, with longer maceration, thoughtful oak management, and decisions made parcel by parcel. Produced in small quantities, these wines are a pure expression of place and craft, and are worth seeking out.
FAKIN MALVASIA LA PRIMA
Experienced and aged, Malvasia La Prima is made from the most important Istrian grape variety, Istrian Malvasia, which accounts for almost two-thirds of the total wine production in the Istrian region. This sophisticated wine with a full golden color exudes honesty and straightforwardness in its taste, with a bouquet of ripe yellow and tropical fruits, along with typical nuances of Motovun Malvasia.
The wine's texture is oily and smooth, with refined notes and a pleasant rounded mineral taste, giving freshness, balance, and intensity to this dry and soft wine. La Prima is meant to be enjoyed casually and lightly, with the harmonious flavor palette slowly revealing itself in a larger tasting glass.
This Malvasia comes from the microlocality of Komarso, where it is hand-harvested in early October and then aged for 12 months in acacia barrels. The recommended serving temperature is between 14°C and 16°C, paired excellently with seafood specialties and homemade pasta with truffles.
FAKIN MALVASIA AMFORA
Malvasia Amfora is a rare and unique wine made from the indigenous Istrian grape variety Malvasia, produced using the traditional method of fermentation in large clay amphorae buried in the ground. This dry white wine, with a color resembling young gold, boasts a full body and a rich, complex flavor profile that makes it a special wine for wine enthusiasts and collectors.
The authentic and timeless aromas of this Malvasia blend perfectly with its bold and refined character, along with excellent balance and an intense taste and long finish.
A limited quantity of Amfora wine is produced annually, making it a rare and sought-after wine. Its uniqueness is further enhanced by the exotic aromas of tropical and ripe yellow fruits, as well as refined notes of honey, dried fruit, citrus, and spices.
FAKIN TERAN IL PRIMO
Teran Il Primo is an elegant, world-class wine with a serious character, known for its direct and reliable taste, fullness, and richness of body achieved through precise selection of the highest quality hand-picked grapes from vineyards dating back to 1972.
This wine is rich in aromas of Marasca cherries, complemented by hints of smoke and tertiary notes of cooked black fruit and premium dark chocolate. Vibrant and lively in taste, it contains perfectly ripe tannins with a long and vivid finish.
Il Primo gains its experience and uniqueness through 24 months of maturation in oak barrels, showcasing its broad and rich taste in harmony with traditional game dishes, red meats, and bluefish.
